Mom Love

My Three Gems

I tried so hard, wondering how to make my mother happy.
That’s why I held on to her breath—it’s so hard for me to breathe.

My children, my entire body aches, though I never tell you.
Father is no longer here; he left without a word.
It hurts so much to know he’s gone.

But one day, he told me,
“After all the suffering, you helped me grow.
And when I see your two daughters and son,
all my exhaustion fades without me even noticing.”

I dreamed of us being together,
of the three of you, so radiant and beautiful.
Don’t look for someone else, Mother,
when love fills those three little hearts.

When you cry, don’t search for comfort in the night.
Instead, cuddle close to someone who loves you and cry.
In dreams, we come closer,
smiling with love in our sleep.

Little by little, you grow up,
thinking of ways to protect each other.
When you receive your flower amulet,
even if you cannot bathe in its glow, Mother,
life will still reach you from afar.

I apologize for leaving too quickly.
I wanted so much to return to you.
But I can’t come back from here, my dears.

That night, I told the driver,
“Let’s go slowly; please be careful.”
I wanted us to remain together for longer.

That’s why, later, I scolded your father gently.
For now, my heart has stopped.
But no matter where you go,
I’ll always be with your father,

watching over you, protecting you.
